About MyATSResume
MyATSResume is a free resume builder for people applying for jobs through applicant tracking systems. It runs entirely in your web browser. There is no account to create, no watermark on what you download, and nothing to pay.
Why the product works this way
Most resume tools ask you to upload your CV to their servers before they will do anything useful with it. That file contains your full name, your address, your phone number, your employment history and often your salary expectations. It is one of the most sensitive documents most people own, and handing it to a company you have never heard of is a real cost that rarely gets mentioned.
MyATSResume was built to avoid that trade. When you import a PDF or a Word document, the file is read inside your browser and never sent anywhere. The same is true of everything you type: your draft lives in your browser’s local storage, on your own device, until you delete it.
How you can check that claim
A privacy promise is only worth as much as its evidence, so here is what to look for. The application contains no code capable of transmitting your data: no network requests, no background beacons, no websocket connections, no form submissions and no tracking or analytics scripts of any kind.
Three open-source libraries are loaded from a public CDN so the app can read PDF files, read Word files and generate PDFs. All three run inside your browser and receive no data from us. As with any file served from a CDN, that provider can see your IP address when the library is fetched, in the same way it would for an image or a stylesheet. Your resume is not part of that request.
If you want to verify this yourself, open your browser’s developer tools, switch to the Network tab, and use the builder normally. You will see the page and its libraries load, and nothing leave afterwards.
What we mean by ATS-friendly — and what we do not claim
An applicant tracking system reads your resume as text. Layouts that look elegant to a person can confuse a parser: columns that interleave when flattened, headings buried in images, contact details stranded in a page header, dates in formats the parser does not recognise.
Our templates carry an ATS safety rating, and our guides explain the formatting choices behind it. Those ratings are informational assessments based on well-established parsing behaviour and on how these layouts flatten into text. They are not a measurement taken from any employer’s system.
To be explicit about the limits: we cannot tell you how a particular company’s ATS will handle your file, because we do not have access to it. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or certified by any ATS vendor. We do not guarantee that your resume will pass a screen, that you will be contacted, or that you will get an interview. Any tool that promises those things is guessing.
What it costs
Nothing. Every template is free, there is no download limit, no subscription, no trial that expires, and no watermark. You do not need to create an account or give an email address to use the builder.
Who makes it
MyATSResume is an independent product. It is not owned by a recruitment agency, a job board or a staffing firm, so the advice here is not shaped by anyone’s hiring pipeline.
