Write in full sentences and mention companies, job titles and rough dates. The more specific you are, the less you'll need to correct.

Add a section
Thirty cover letter templates, each a different structure. All of them are assembled from what is already in your résumé. Nothing is invented — every claim comes from your own entries. Read it once and change anything that does not sound like you.
A letter works best when it points at two or three specific things you did. If a line here reads as generic, replace it with the story behind it.
Keep a master and tailor a copy per application, rather than overwriting your only résumé.
Stick to common system fonts. Unusual typefaces can render as blank boxes when a parser opens the PDF.
Black prints most reliably. Colour is safe for headings but keep body text dark.
